• "Home" now called "Blog, etc."
  You know that whole new section to the site that I launched back in December? Unfortunately, I still haven't found a name for it that I like. I had originally just called it "Home" because, after all, it was the "home" to basically all of my content (blog entries, tweets, videos, pictures, etc.) As I feared, I heard some feedback from folks new to my site that they had no idea that was even there. They figured "Home" simply meant they'd go to that initial, drab, boring splash page, and I totally understand that. So, I renamed it to "Blog, etc." If you've got a better idea that would fit in 130 pixels, let me know.

• (Temporary?) Removal of Cubs Section
  This page requires some pretty regular maintenance. I think I had one full season where it had 3 days of box scores (today's plus the next two days), current standings, some recent AP photos, and the news feed. Well, I've been down to just the news feed since the beginning of the year. I haven't yet had the desire to address that, so I decided to pull the plug until (or if) I do. This could be temporary or it could be permanent. Honestly, does it really matter? :-)

• Background Change
  When I launched the redesign back in December, I had diagonal lines in that extra blue space you see around the main part of the site. I changed this about a month ago, but there's now a kind of star burst effect. This only fills space on the edges of the site if your display resolution is about 1024x768, which it likely is (I know mine is). I like this better.

• Better Multimedia Integration with Twitter
  Also done a while ago, but if I tweet a link to TwitPic, YouTube, or Vimeo, my site will embed that media. This may seem minor, but it took Twitter themselves about 4 years to do that and they're worth billions. What's that in my cap? Oh look -- a feather!

• Updates to Splash Page
  I also took the time to reword a few things on the splash page and corrected a typo (it turns out "aforecast" wasn't a word).

On the horizon:
I'm currently exploring a way to integrate Facebook's comment system into my site, which should be neat. I'm hoping that this might also drive some traffic my way as seemingly EVERYONE is on Facebook. The major hurdle I have at this point is that, in testing, I'm not being notified if someone posted something. Since I figure my response would most likely be desired to most of the posts on here, that's probably not optimal. I'll need to figure that out before releasing that into the wild.
