I'll start with a smidgen of bragging. I entered two photos in to this year's Iowa State Fair. One was not only accepted, but was awarded Honorable Mention in the Adult Black & White Winter Wonderland category. Of the 4,394 photos entered, only 165 received a ribbon (Honorable Mention, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd). That's only 3.75%. I think I'm a humble person and I'm quite proud of that accomplishment. The real concerning thing for me is the condition of the print. The original digital file is on my fried hard drive, so currently, the one hanging up at the fairgrounds, another 8 x 10 printed for a co-worker, and a 3 x 5 printed for Anna are the only copies in existence. Worse yet is that the print at the fair already looked warped. I'm honestly concerned about its survival. But, I knew this was a possibility when I submitted it... At some point, they should get the results of the Photography exhibit added to the site.
In other news, a good friend of mine here at work got married a couple of weeks back and asked me to be his videographer. He'd asked me to do this months ago, and I agreed, wanting to go anyway and knowing he'd have a hell of a reception thrown. About a week before the wedding, he shocked me by coming to my desk at work, and telling me in a very apologetic tone that he wouldn't have anything for me at the wedding, but he'd have a gift eventually. I think it was eating at him. Eventually, he told me that I'll be getting the Halo 3 Legendary Edition as payment. This bad boy will retail for $130, which makes it quite a profitable video taping job for me, but also quite a bit cheaper than hiring a professional for Ryan. It put quite a lot of pressure on me to do it right, though...

This game is going to be friggin' huge. Pre-orders have already passed the 1 million mark and there's 47 days until its launch. It caught the attention of the Wall Street Journal:
