I find that I'm basically just trying to get an entry in place for October. Going an entire calendar month is pretty bad. I've made myself a nice an open forum to share my thoughts with a few folks, so I should probably stop neglecting it.
I've made a nice upgrade to the site, at least for me. I found this wonderful exif.pl script available on the Internets written by Andrew Gregory. This script reads the Exchangeable image file format (Exif) information stored on an image file. This information includes the date and time the picture was taken, exposure settings, the model number of the camera, the dimensions of the image in pixels, etc. As a result, I no longer need to manually enter the date the picture was taken or whether their landscape or portrait in size, allowing me to add photos to the site much more quickly. Also, since this script reads the exact time I took the photo, that information is now available in the Pics section, which can be interesting. There might be a couple of lingering bugs because of this change (there's at least two with the comments area), but I'm sure I'll eventually catch them all.
I find that I'm completely burnt-out politically. Democrats seem to only offer complaints about existing policies rather than alternatives. Republicans seem to be making up anything they can about their opponents to save their asses. It's enough to make a person only vote for challengers instead of incumbents; get them all out! I've seen maybe two ads where a candidate has actually discussed what they stand for rather than discussing their opponent's failures. In all honesty, I'm hoping for a Congress controlled by Democrats simply so that a checks and balance system is once again in place. I hope Americans have grown tired of having all three branches of the federal government controlled by a party incapable of listening or even hearing the voice of dissent. Of course, I had similar hopes two years ago. Maybe Osama can give another ringing endorsement of the Republican party's strategies.
On a much lighter note, I hope to have pictures of the kids in their costumes up here soon.
