Lee is rehabbing a broken wrist 06/23/2006 10:18 AM ET MLB.com
The Chicago Cubs announced Thursday night that barring any setbacks in his rehabilitation schedule, first baseman Derrek Lee will join the Iowa Cubs for their games Saturday and Sunday against the Omaha Royals.
...
Prior to the wrist injury, Lee had never been on the disabled list. He will be the fourth Chicago Cubs player to play for the Iowa Cubs on a rehabilitation assignment this season, joining pitchers Mark Prior, Scott Williamson and Kerry Wood.
Saturday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. Partly cloudy, with a high near 83. West southwest wind between 6 and 13 mph. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Saturday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 62. Northwest wind between 6 and 10 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Oh, sure, that forecast could look a lot worse, but would it be too much to ask for them to put something in there about "a beautiful evening for baseball"?
You damn well better believe that the camera will be going with. If Lee's playing, I hope to have a slew of pictures available here shortly thereafter. Until then...
