I'm down to mere hours before having to board a commercial airplane for the first time in nearly 6 years. I'll wait for you to do the math ... that's pre-9/11. Those were the days that they asked you about friggin' fruit before you got on the damn plane, not bombs or switch blades. Adding to my surprising lack of excitement is my 2-year old, who has predictably come down ill, specifically with an ear infection. Cabin pressure ought to feel real good for him tomorrow. We knew this would happen; it's January, so how couldn't it? All in all, I'm thrilled. I haven't been down to Disney World since ? well, my last commercial flight, in fact, in March of 2000. This will be my first time actually staying on Disney property, something that I'm told makes the trip a lot smoother. I'm all for that! Anna and I found a chair for $3 at Target today. It was one of those kinds of chairs that folds down into a tube-like shape, which allows you to put it in a bag that allows you to sling it over your shoulder. We bought it solely for the bag. Instead of the chair, my tripod will go in there. Smooth move on our part, I think as regular tripod cases run for at least $15. I really need to go to bed. I have to get to the airport by around 5 AM, a full 2 hours and 41 minutes before the 7:41 sunrise. Yippee! |
