A lot of people hate Mondays; I hate Sunday nights. It's always difficult for me to go from the fun and free-wheeling that is a weekend to preparing for the daily grind all over again. As a result, I usually find myself surfing through my TiVo for about the 50th time at 2 AM, desperately searching for something that doesn't result in me resigning myself to the fact that the weekend's over.
Locally, this weekend was both terrible and wonderful. Iowa and Iowa State had very key victories against Wisconsin and Colorado, respectively. Each game had an unusually unique atmosphere. Wisconsin was saying goodbye to their longtime head coach, Barry Alvarez, while they were dodging tornadoes in Ames. Both resulted in surprisingly emotional victories.
The downside was those tornados, which made national news. I've heard that some 65 homes were destroyed in the towns of Stratford and Woodward, along with 100+ damaged. Larry's Bar
A husband goes to a shrink and says, "Doctor, you've got to help me. My wife is unfaithful to me. Every Friday night, she goes to Larry's bar and picks up men. In fact, she sleeps with anybody who asks her! I'm going crazy. What do you think I should do?"
"Relax," says the doctor, "take a deep breath and calm down. Now, tell me, where exactly is Larry's bar?"
