Every now and then, I take a gander at my Referrals, just for curiosity's sake. One of the nice things about that is that I can look at what phrases and words people used on Google that gave them my site as a result. Well, one Google-searched phrase jumped out at me tonight: "Hate the Cardinals." Sure enough, I did a search for "Hate the Cardinals" on Google and my site is the first one listed, specifically the entry from July 9th appropriately titled, "I Hate the Cardinals."
After making this amusing discovery, I found myself wondering whether or not I should be proud of it. I mean, I generally pride myself on being a glass-is-half-full kinda guy, but this was definitely not in that category. I do, however, genuinely despise, hate and loathe the Cardinals.I came to the conclusion that I don't care. It's funny. It's the truth. It's getting me hits. Changing subject to the Cubs, it was nice to see that they could lose a game today without completely going insane. I wasn't all that upset about Zambrano's actions earlier this week, nor Hawkins'. But, it was nice to see them just lose the game and leave it at that. I was appalled at how the game ended, however. Sammy Sosa had a 3-1 count and got a pitch that, at closest, was 6 inches outside. It was called a strike; not surprising being on the road. The next pitch was also a ball, but Sammy, now with two strikes, had to dig out is fairway wood and tee off. Unfortunately, he reenacted pitch #2 of the Home Run Derby and swung and missed. Good to have you back, Sam. You honestly don't know why fans are booing you? |
