Fahrenheit 9/11
I don't consider myself to be affiliated with nor am I registered with either the Ruplican or Democratic party, but as I am maturing, I'm discovering I lean far more to the left on issues than to the right. I even voted for Gore in 2000, right along with the majority of the population.

First and foremost, I do not like Bush. I sincerely hope he loses this year's election. Kerry is obviously the most likely candidate to beat Bush, but I don't care. Anybody but Bush. This feeling about our President has made me highly interested in the new Michael Moore movie, "Fahrenheit 9/11." As a result, I have read a great deal about it and can't wait for the opportunity to see it.

Excerpt from: http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/Movies/06/24/review.fahrenheit/index.html

"Perhaps the most damaging footage shows Bush on September 11, sitting in a Florida classroom for a full seven minutes after he had been told that the second tower had been struck, and that it was clear the horrific events in New York were a terrorist attack, not a tragic accident. Moore lets this moment go on and on: The president of the United States, stone-faced in front of dozens of schoolchildren, doing absolutely nothing, as our nation comes under attack."

The "Vacation" sequence from the film looks simply hilarious. It's something that I actually remember at the time. I thought it was really odd at the beginning of August, 2001 that Bush was taking an entire month off for vacation. I couldn't recall that happening before. But, really didn't think much of it. I also remember a news story about how August is a slow news month, citing the fact that the world's longest lawn sale made national news and how the reporter was looking forward to September so that he had something to cover. I think he got his wish.

One of the most striking clips I've seen from the film is Bush on the golf course in an impromptu news conference, saying, "I call upon all nations to do everything they can to stop these terrorist killers. Now, watch this drive." What the hell is that!?

By far the best thing about Moore's film is Moore himself. He will vehemently defend any point that is disputed from the film and has hired a team of folks to do just that. So, whatever is in the film will be defended as being factual, with evidence. I hope this comes out on DVD before the election.

Anybody but Bush.
