Upon moving, we had to switch cable companies. I never thought I'd say this, but I actually miss Mediacom. The company that services my new apartment building is called Vision Systems. From the best that I can tell, they're a small company that primarily services large apartment complexes by reselling satellite service. In my case, it's some channels from Dish Network. What's the problem you ask? Well, the problems are a-plenty: - Internet connection with Mediacom: 3 Mbits; Vision Systems: 1 Mbits
- Mediacom provides the vast majority of its channels in stereo sound; Vision Systems only provides local broadcast channels in stereo
- Channels through Mediacom are quite clear and crisp; only one or two are with Vision Systems
- I've heard of Mediacom; Vision Systems... well, not so much.
For all this, I do get some different channels for $10/mo. cheaper. That I will give them. That's it, however.I've contacted them on a few occations asking how they can offer digital cable and high speed Internet, but not even be able to provide stereo sound. Their answer is that they don't provide stereo sound. Well, no shit. I knew that! Unfortunately, I'm stuck. I have no options. I can't get satellite service and can't get any other cable provider. So, bitch as I may, this is all I can get, so I better suffice. Damn. |
